When the Denver Montessori
School needed a new science lab, the Denver Public School
District decided to build the addition using a geothermal
heating and cooling system. The Denver Montessori School
was DPS’ first geothermal system,
and the school was used as a case study for cost-benefit
analysis. The school has been utilizing geothermal heating
and cooling for three years, and as a result, DPS has now
incorporated the use of geothermal heating and cooling into
other schools within the district.
