The Duchesne County School District is a firm believer in geothermal heating and cooling. The Tabiona School is the third school in the district utilizing geothermal heating and cooling. The school originally used a coal fire boiler and had no cooling system. The geothermal loop field consists of 70-400ft. directionally drilled loops underneath the baseball and soccer field. The loops were drilled to a depth of 15-20 ft.
