Drilling
Mud Rotary - Air - Hard Rock Hammer
Our crews have the experience and the capability to complete
any geothermal drilling project, regardless of conditions.
Our drilling methods include: mud rotary, air, and hard rock
hammer with depths ranging from 0 to 1,500 feet. |
 |
 |
Limited
Access Drilling
Air - Mud Rotary - Hard Rock Air Hammer
When access is limited or the terrain is too steep for conventional
drilling methods, RMG possesses terrain-buggy-mounted drills.
Drilling methods include: mud rotary, air, and hard rock hammer
with depths ranging from 0 to 300 feet. |
 |
 |
Loop
Field Trenching
All of RMG’s
equipment operators have experience and knowledge of utility
installation. RMG assures a safe, clean, excavated trench,
and that all locates of utility lines will be complete. |
 |
 |
Loop
Field Headers
All of RMG’s employees are IGSHPA certified in the methods
of HDPE pipe fusion. Pipe fusion methods include socket, butt,
side saddle, and electro-fusion. Our capabilities include fusing
HDPE pipe from .5” to 24” in diameter. |
 |
 |
Slinky
Pit Loops
RMG’s employees
have extensive experience in large pit excavation, as well
as backfill and compaction. Our pit loops can accommodate a
small residential house to a large commercial facility. |
 |
 |
Large
Geothermal Excavation - Backfill - Compaction
Our
heavy equipment operators have extensive experience in large
excavation projects including geothermal loop fields, pipe
lines, utilities, ponds, as well as hard rock excavation projects.
|
 |
 |
Horizontal
Drilling
Our
horizontal drilling techniques allow us to place horizontally
drilled loops under existing infrastructures such as football,
baseball, and soccer fields, heavily treed areas and parking
lots. Our capabilities include drilling and pulling geothermal
loops at a depth of 15 to 20 feet and distances ranging from
0 to 500 feet. |

Side
Saddle Pipe Fusing
All of our crews are IGSHPA certified in the techniques
of geothermal pipe fusion, and they have extensive experience
in all aspects of geothermal pipe fusion. |

 |
Thermal
Conductivity Testing
In
order to provide our clients with an accurate measurement
of the thermal-conductivity value of the existing soil conditions,
RMG provides thermal-conductivity testing on many of its large
scale geothermal projects. |

Loop
Field Flushing & Purging
Large Lopp Fields are No Problem
RMG is one of the few geothermal contractors in the Rocky
Mountain region that has the ability to flush and purge large
geothermal loop fields properly. Our flushing and purging
units are specifically designed for the geothermal industry.
The units have the ability to flush and purge at a rate of
450 gallons per minute; remove and filter debris; and mix
the antifreeze to the proper percentage. |
 |
 |
Vertical
Looping & Grouting
Our
looping and grouting crews have the ability to load and grout
geothermal loops to a depth of up to 500 feet. Our state-of-the-art
looping and grouting equipment ensures that each hole is properly
grouted, and that the holes meet the thermal-conductivity
value specified in the contract. In order to ensure the proper
thermal-conductivity value of the grout, random samples are
continuously taken and tested by an independent laboratory.

Hard
Rock Trenching & Blasting
RMG
performs a majority of its work in mountainous terrain where
hard rock is a way of life. Our expertise in hard rock drilling
and blasting techniques allows us to complete hard rock trenching
and/or excavation. |

Supply
& Return Lines
Our
crews have extensive experience in running geothermal supply
and return lines. The lines are run from the loop field to
the mechanical room. |
 |
 |
Pressure
Testing
All
of RMG’s loop fields are pressure tested using air and
hydro-static pressure test methods, thus ensuring a leak-free
loop field. |
 |
 |
Custom
Vaults
RMG
designs and installs custom geothermal vaults. These vaults
are specifically designed on a per project basis to ensure
ease of operation and maintenance. |
 |
 |
Mechanical
Design
RMG
works closely with our sister company for turn-key design
to build projects.
